Description:
The Office of Economic Policy provides the Minister of Finance and the government with economic analysis and policy advice on a wide range of economic, fiscal and financial issues and trends that affect economic growth and job creation. Specific areas include: macroeconomic projections and revenue forecasts; development of economic policy initiatives for the annual budget; labour market and socioeconomic issues; demographic analysis and population forecasts; sectoral and regional economic analysis; R&D and innovation policy analysis; and financial services sector, including securities and auto insurance regulatory policy. The Office of Economic Policy also liaises with Statistics Canada and produces the quarterly Ontario Economic Accounts.
